Violet woke up on her bed, her heart filled with fear. The sudden sight of an unfamiliar human startled her and made her want to escape.Using the last of her strength, while the little girl slept, she spread her wings and stumbled out of the window. The cold night wind made it hard to see. Soon, she could fly no longer and fell from the sky.

When Violet woke up, she found herself lying on a bed of soft moss. A sweet drop of dew slid into her mouth, soothing her dry throat. She opened her eyes and saw a gentle, beautiful face. It was a flower fairy, just like her, but taller, with eyes as green as a lake and long, black hair that flowed like a waterfall. "Don't be afraid, little one. You're safe now," she said softly.

The flower fairy, whose name was Lily, carried Violet to her home—a treehouse built on the branch of a giant oak tree. The house was made of sturdy vines and large leaves, with curtains of dried flowers hanging in the windows. Everything inside was tiny and exquisite, smelling of wood and fresh grass.

Violet’s body was still very weak. Lily made her a small bed from soft spider silk and fed her the sweetest nectar every day. She wrapped Violet’s cold little hands with her warm palms and hummed ancient flower fairy lullabies. Under Lily’s tender care, Violet felt as if she had returned to a warm, safe embrace.

Lily had a son named Leo. He had short black hair and emerald-green eyes, and he was very pretty. But he did not like Violet, mainly because he was afraid of the unfamiliar human scent on her. "Mom, she comes from the human world," he would always whisper from behind Lily. Violet wanted to be his friend, but he always hid from her.

Under Lily's care, Violet quickly regained her strength. Every morning, they would carry tiny baskets to gather the freshest nectar and the sweetest pollen in the forest. Lily taught her which flowers had the best nectar. She also taught Violet how to make a defensive sword from a pine needle.

The forest was not always peaceful. Near their treehouse, a bully of an eagle named Spike had his eye on them. He didn't dare to provoke Lily, so he often waited until she was away. He would land outside their window, pecking at the leaf walls with his sharp beak. Whenever Spike appeared, Leo would hide in the innermost room, trembling with a leaf over his head.

One day, while Lily was out, Spike attacked again. This time he was fiercer, smashing right through the treehouse window! Leo, who was trembling in a corner, screamed at the loud noise. He ran outside in a panic and straight into Spike's view. The eagle gave a cry, swooped down, and grabbed the terrified Leo in his sharp talons!

Violet was just returning from gathering nectar. "Let him go!" she shouted. Leo struggled and cried desperately in the air, "Help me, Violet!" Looking at the eagle's enormous body, Violet felt a shiver of fear herself. But she knew she couldn't be a coward; she had to think of a plan! An idea flashed in her mind, and she turned and flew towards the eagle's nest.

Violet flew to the eagle's nest and shouted, "Hey, bad eagle! Your nest is flooded!" Spike, still holding Leo, heard her cry and looked back in confusion. He saw Violet circling his old nest and became furious, thinking the little fairy was trying to destroy his territory. He carelessly left Leo onto a thick branch and charged angrily toward Violet.

Violet immediately turned, using her small, nimble body to zip through the dense branches. Spike was large, and though he was fast, he was clumsy in the complicated forest. Violet led him on a chase in big circles until she had left him far behind. Then, she instantly turned back, flew as fast as she could to the branch, and carried the trembling Leo safely back to their treehouse.

Back home, Leo was still shaken, but the way he looked at Violet had completely changed. It was a look of awe and gratitude. "You... you saved me. You're so brave," he said in a small voice. It was the first time he had truly looked at her. Violet shook her head and gently patted his back to comfort him.

Their treehouse was a mess. When Lily returned, they immediately began to rebuild. This time, Leo did not hide. Though he was still afraid, he copied Violet and bravely helped carry small twigs and leaves.

The new treehouse was even more beautiful than before. That evening, the three of them sat on the porch, watching the stars. Leo moved closer to Violet and said sincerely, "Violet, I... I won't be scared anymore. I'll try to be brave, just like you." Violet smiled, "I used to be timid, always looking to escape. But now I realize that running away isn't always the answer. Sometimes we must face our challenges." Leo nodded firmly.

From that day on, the three of them lived happily together like a real family in the peaceful forest. Sometimes, when she saw a rose, Violet would think of Eliza and the short, beautiful dream she once had.
