1.A Surprise on the Blue Sea
Young Caesar was sailing across the sea to study. He was sitting on a big ship, enjoying the blue ocean trip. Suddenly, a black ship came zooming closer like a shadow! "Pirates!" the sailors cried out in fear.
The pirates took Caesar to their secret island where they hid their treasure. They thought Caesar would be shaking with fear, but Caesar just stood up straight and smiled at the pirate chief. "You've caught a very important person," he said.
Soon, something funny happened. Caesar started acting like a little captain! When the pirates were being noisy, Caesar would call out loudly, "Shhh! I am thinking about important things! Please be quiet!" And those pirates actually started to whisper.
Caesar even gave the pirates chores! Caesar calmly suggested, “Could someone bring some fresh water? And maybe light the fire?”
Every evening, Caesar would make the pirates sit together. He would stand up tall and use his clear, loud voice to tell them stories of heroes and recite beautiful poems. The pirates were completely charmed by his confident voice.
Caesar also had a special rule for sleeping. "When I go to sleep," he announced, "the whole island must be quiet! Not a single sound!" The pirates had to walk on their tiptoes, afraid of waking up their important "guest."
One day, Caesar joined the pirates' fun wrestling game. A big pirate gently flipped him onto the sand. Caesar laughed, brushed the sand off his clothes, and said, "Good throw! Next time I come back, I'll bring my friends to play with you!"
After many days, the pirate chief said, "Caesar, it's time for you to go home. Your family must pay us twenty bags of silver."
When Caesar heard this, he frowned as if he were angry. "Twenty bags? That's too little! I am the most important person in Rome! You must ask for at least fifty bags of silver!"
The pirates looked at each other, confused. They had never met anyone who asked to raise their own ransom! In the end, the pirate chief had to agree. Caesar smiled, knowing he had won the funny negotiation.
Fifty bags of silver arrived quickly, and it was time for Caesar to go home. Before getting on the boat, Caesar told the pirate chief, "Goodbye! Next time,I will bring you back to Rome."
The pirates all laughed, thinking Caesar was joking. But a serious look shone in Caesar's eyes, and he remembered the island's location and every pirate's face.
When Caesar returned to Rome, he reported the pirates to the authorities. Soon, ships were sent to stop them.
When the pirates saw so many ships, their faces turned pale. They finally knew Caesar was serious! Not one of them could escape.
The pirates were brought back to Rome. The story quickly spread all over. Everyone said Caesar was not only brave but also very clever! From that day on, Caesar became an amazing legend.
