On the Genoa dock, a boy named Columbus crouched on sand, drawing lines with a stick. 'What are you doing?' a sailor asked. 'Drawing a map! I'll sail to the other side of the world!' Columbus's eyes sparkled. 'There's gold, spices, things I've never seen!'

Years later, Columbus became a sailor. Then one night, a terrible storm came. Huge waves crashed like monsters. Columbus' ship sank. 'Hold on!' the captain screamed. Columbus jumped into freezing water and grabbed a wooden board.That's how he survived the shipwreck.

The terror of the sea could not extinguish his passion for her. Columbus made maps and studied books. One day, he jumped up suddenly. 'I understand!' he shouted. 'If Earth is round, sailing west reaches the east! Maybe it's shorter!' His friends laughed, calling it a daydream.

Columbus brought his plan to the King of Portugal. 'Your Majesty, sponsor my voyage!' he knelt. But the king shook his head. 'Crazy idea. Earth is much bigger. Get out!' Columbus felt hopeless. Was his dream impossible?

Luckily,in Spain, Queen Isabella heard his story. Columbus kneeled down before her. 'Your Majesty, please give me a chance.' The queen saw fire in his eyes. 'Very well,' she said. 'I'll sponsor you. But you must succeed.' Columbus almost cried with joy.

Three ships waited: the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María. Columbus shouted to his crew: 'Friends, we sail to the other side of the world! Who wants to adventure with me?' The crew cheered wildly. The fleet finally set sail.

After a month, the crew grew afraid. 'Captain, when will we see land?' a sailor asked. 'Soon,' Columbus said, but his voice was uncertain. Some sailors whispered about turning back. Columbus felt the pressure mounting.

Early one morning, a sailor screamed, 'Land! Land!' Everyone rushed to the deck. In the distance, they saw green land. Columbus's eyes filled with tears. He did it! He sailed across the Atlantic and discovered a new world.

Columbus raised a flag on the island. 'This land now belongs to Spain,' he announced. Friendly people lived there, looking curiously at the visitors. Columbus named it San Salvador and sailed on to find more islands.

Months later, Columbus returned to Spain. They brought back large quantities of spices and gold.The queen welcomed him. 'You did it,' the queen told him. 'You changed history.' Columbus was named 'Admiral of the Ocean Sea.' Everyone was proud of the greatest sailor.

Success didn't satisfy Columbus. A year later, he sailed again with 17 ships. 'This time, we're not just explorers,' he told his crew. 'We're pioneers!' He discovered Puerto Rico and Jamaica, building the first settlements despite the challenges.

On his third voyage, Columbus reached South America's coast. He saw a real continent, not just islands. 'Look,' he pointed, 'a real continent! Our discovery is greater than I imagined!' He felt a deep sense of pride in his life's work.

Aging Columbus sailed his fourth and final voyage. Despite bad weather and sickness, he kept going. 'I can sail once more,' he told his crew. 'I can discover more new things.' He explored Central America, never losing his spark.
