A wise king asked his three daughters, 'What special gift shall I bring you from my long journey?' The eldest wished for pearls, the second for diamonds, but the youngest said, 'Father, I only wish for a little lark that can sing and dance beautifully.'

The king set off on his journey, carrying precious gifts for his two elder daughters. But his quest for the magical singing and dancing lark was much harder, taking him deep into unknown lands.

Deep within the enchanted forest, the king discovered a magnificent fairytale castle. Beside it stood a tall, ancient tree, and at its very top, sat the beautiful singing, dancing lark, glowing softly.

As the king carefully approached the tree to reach the lark, a majestic golden lion suddenly stepped forward. 'Whoever tries to take my lark will face my challenge!' it declared with a deep voice.

The lion spoke again, 'You may take the lark, but upon returning home, the very first living thing you meet must be mine. Promise this, and your daughter shall receive the lark safely.' The king, worried but desperate, nodded his head in agreement.

The king returned to his castle, his heart heavy with worry despite holding the lark. As he stepped through the great castle entrance, the very first person to greet him was his youngest daughter, running with open arms.

When the king sadly told his youngest daughter about the lion's promise, she stood tall and brave. 'Father,' she declared firmly, 'I must go and keep your promise. I will go to the lion myself!'

The very next day, the courageous daughter began her journey. She followed the winding forest path, guided by the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves and the gentle whispers of the ancient trees, toward the lion’s castle.

When she reached the castle, the majestic lion greeted her. To her amazement, he then began to transform! He revealed he was a prince, cursed to be a lion by day and a man by night. He welcomed her warmly.

The noble prince invited the daughter to a grand feast in his castle. They dined together under sparkling chandeliers, while sweet music filled the air, and the little lark sang joyously from a nearby perch.

One day, the daughter longed to attend her elder sister's wedding. The prince, now her beloved, warned her of magical dangers on the journey, but she insisted she must go. He gave her a magical guard for protection.

During her journey, a beam of sunlight fell upon the prince’s head, who was accompanying her invisibly. Instantly, the magical curse intensified, and he transformed into a white pigeon, flying away desperately into the sky!

Heartbroken but determined, the daughter began her quest to find her beloved prince. She followed a faint trail of shimmering feathers and faint red petals left by the pigeon, traveling over rocky mountains, rushing rivers, and dense forests.

Seeking help, she humbly asked the majestic Sun, the gentle Moon, and the swift South Wind for guidance. Each offered cryptic advice and helpful directions, helping her navigate the magical obstacles in her path.

Finally, her long journey led her to a dark, ominous castle on a jagged cliff. This was the enchanted fortress where a powerful witch held the prince captive. The daughter approached cautiously, and with cleverness and kindness, managed to gain entry, seeing faint shimmering feathers floating nearby.

She made a bargain with the powerful witch, who allowed her to spend one night with the enchanted prince in a candlelit chamber, in exchange for precious gifts and clever negotiations.

At the first hint of dawn, the brave daughter and the prince, now free from his enchantment, made their daring escape! They soared high above the world on the back of a majestic griffin, given to them by the prince, leaving the dark castle far behind.

They returned home safely to the king's castle. The prince, now fully human, married his brave daughter, and they lived happily ever after with their family and joyful villagers, the little lark singing its happiest tunes, a symbol of their courage and love.
